AEP 3555 - Gaining Intuition Through Symmetry and Computation

Applied Group Theory. Focus is on the symmetry of geometrical objects, both as abstract objects (“up to an isomorphism”) and embedded in a physical space (“up to a conjugation”) such as the Crystallographic Groups.

Group Actions (on Sets & Vector Spaces), Numbers & Groups, Permutations & the Symmetric Group, Orbit-Stabilizer Theorem, Regular Objects in 2d/3d & the Platonic solids, applications to problems in physics.
